Fatimata — Fāṭima — the West African Fula form of the Prophet's daughter.

Fatimata is the West African Fula and Mande form of فاطمة (Fāṭima) — the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, wife of ʿAlī, mother of al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn, and one of the four greatest women named in the prophetic hadith. The Wolof, Mandinka, Fulfulde, and Bambara phonologies of West Africa take Arabic feminine names ending in tāʾ marbūṭa and add a final -ta or -tu, producing Fatimata, Khadijatu, Aminata, Aishatu — names that mark a French-Wolof-Fulfulde domestication of the Arabic original.

The name belongs first to Fāṭima az-Zahrāʾ (the Resplendent), whom the Prophet ﷺ called sayyidatu nisāʾi l-jannah — 'the mistress of the women of Paradise.' She was the youngest of his daughters, the only one to survive him, and the matriarch of every Sayyid descendant of the Prophet through her two sons. Fatimata is among the most common feminine names in Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, and the West African diaspora. Notable bearers include the Malian historian Fatimata Mariko and the Senegalese activist Fatimata Sy.
