What Umm Haram means
Mother of the Sacred — Umm Haram bint Milhan (RA), the aunt (or maternal aunt by some accounts) of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ visited her home and once said after waking from rest there: 'I was shown my community crossing this sea like kings on thrones.' She said: 'Make du'a that I will be among them.' He prayed for her. She emigrated to Cyprus on the first Islamic naval expedition in 649 CE and was martyred when her horse fell. She is buried in Cyprus at the mosque named after her — Hala Sultan Tekke — one of the most sacred sites in Islam after Makkah, Madinah, and Jerusalem.
