The name belongs above all to Talha ibn Ubaydullah (RA), one of the ten Companions promised Paradise (al-ashara al-mubashshara). After the battle, the Prophet called him 'Talha al-Khayr' (Talha the Good), 'Talha al-Jud' (Talha the Generous), and 'Talha al-Fayyad' (Talha the Generous-Flowing) for his open hand with wealth.
