What Abu Ubayda means
Trustee of the Ummah — Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah (RA), one of the ten companions promised paradise. The Prophet said: 'Every ummah has a trustee (amin) and the trustee of this ummah is Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah.' He died of plague in Syria in 639 CE. He refused to flee the plague, saying: 'O Allah, Abu Ubayda asks You for his share of this.'.
