Ammar ibn Yasir (RA) was the son of Yasir and Sumayya — the first family to be martyred in Islam. He himself was tortured until he uttered words of disbelief under duress, and Allah revealed: 'Except he who is compelled while his heart is secure in faith' (16:106) — specifically for Ammar's case. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ammar is filled with faith from head to toe. Faith is mixed with his flesh and blood.'.
